Bacanora is a 300-year-old agave spirit native to Sonora, Mexico, made exclusively from the wild Agave Angustifolia Haw.

Its flavor is shaped by Sonora’s extreme desert climate, giving it a naturally smooth, earthy, and lightly smoky profile. For 75 years, beginning in 1915, Bacanora was banned by the state, and producers were persecuted for making it. Families continued distilling in secret, preserving the tradition until prohibition was lifted in 1992 and Bacanora finally received its Denomination of Origin. Today, Bacanora represents the resilience and pride of Sonoran culture. Crafted by families like those behind Hacienda Las Calaveras, it stands as one of Mexico’s most authentic and historically significant spirits.
